Eyelid Rejuvenation

(Blepharoplasty)

Upper and lower eyelid refinement that brightens the eyes and preserves your unique character—subtle, precise, and natural results in Northern Virginia and DC.

Overview

Upper blepharoplasty removes and reshapes redundant skin and selected fat to restore a clean eyelid crease. Lower blepharoplasty repositions or reduces herniated fat pads and smooths the lid–cheek junction; skin quality can be enhanced with a conservative external pinch, chemical peel, or laser. When true lid droop (ptosis) is present, a ptosis repair may be performed to improve lid height and symmetry. Dr. Slamin customizes his technique for subtle rejuvenation, preserving eye shape and function while combating signs of fatigue and aging.

Surgical Notes

  • Downtime: ~5–7 days for most work or virtual tasks; bruising fades over 1–2 weeks
  • Anesthesia: Local with sedation or general
  • Setting: Accredited surgery center
  • Incisions/Scars: Upper-lid crease; lower-lid transconjunctival (scarless) with or without a fine external “skin pinch”
  • Results Timeline: Early brightness in weeks; full settling by ~3 months
  • Longevity: Long-lasting; aging continues naturally
