Overview
Breast augmentation enhances volume, shape, and upper-pole fullness using silicone or saline implants and, when appropriate, your own fat. Dr. Slamin prioritizes anatomical harmony, selecting implant type, size, and placement to achieve a natural look that moves with you. We emphasize thorough planning, including 3D imaging, to ensure results that feel empowering and enduring, without compromising breast health.
Goals of Breast Augmentation
- Restore volume lost to pregnancy, weight changes, or aging
- Improve symmetry and upper-pole shape
- Balance the figure to complement the waist and hips
- Preserve sensation and breastfeeding potential when possible
- Achieve a result that moves and feels like you
Candidates for Breast Augmentation
- Desire fuller breasts or correction of asymmetry
- Stable weight and realistic goals
- In good health and non-smoking (or willing to follow an optimization plan)
Dr. Slamin’s Approach to Breast Augmentation
Consultation & Planning
We begin with a detailed discussion of your vision, using 3D imaging to simulate sizes and profiles. Breast measurements guide implant selection, considering tissue coverage and ribcage morphology.
Technical Approach
- Thoughtful Sizing: Implant width and projection selected to your anatomy, to prevent long-term strain on the breast tissue
- Placement: The least invasive plane is chosen to achieve natural slope and soft upper-pole transition
- Fat Grafting (Optional): To soften edges, improve cleavage, or refine asymmetry
- Scar Strategy: Inframammary incision hidden in the crease; meticulous closure
Day of Procedure
You’ll review the plan and meet your team before a 1–2 hour surgery. Dressings and a supportive bra are applied; home the same day with comprehensive aftercare provided in advance.

Frequently Asked Question
Silicone or saline?
Silicone feels more natural for most; saline can be appropriate in specific scenarios. We’ll choose together.
Will they look natural?
Sizing to your breast width and appropriate plane placement creates soft, believable contours.
Can I breastfeed later?
Many women can, but it is not guaranteed. We plan incision and pocket to support the best chance.
How long do implants last?
There’s no set expiration. We recommend periodic clinical follow-up and imaging.
Exercise timeline?
Light cardio at 2 weeks; weights at 6.
Mammogram changes?
Implants are safe; we guide imaging protocols.
Will I lose sensation?
Rare; most preserve nipple feeling.
Under or over the muscle?
I prefer to disrupt as little native anatomy as possible in order to get a good long-term result, when possible this means placing the implant above the muscle. However, in certain patients, especially very thin patients, a dual-plan position is best in order to create a natural, elegant contour to the upper pole of the breast.
