Chin Augmentation
(Genioplasty)
Harmonize your profile with precise chin enhancement by Dr. Slamin—implant or sliding genioplasty, tailored for balance in North Virginia and DC.
Overview
Chin augmentation, also known as genioplasty, advances or reshapes the chin for ideal projection, enhancing jawline symmetry and profile. Options include a custom-selected implant or an osseous genioplasty that repositions your own bone. Choice depends on your anatomy, soft-tissue envelope, and goals. The procedure is frequently paired with rhinoplasty or deep neck lift for comprehensive harmony.

Frequently Asked Question
Implant or bone?
Implants are efficient and reversible; sliding genioplasty uses your own bone and allows precise vector control. Using your bone can also enhance the submental region by tightening the neck muscles attached to the chin as it is advanced.
Will it change my bite?
No—cosmetic genioplasty does not alter dental occlusion.
Is numbness normal?
Temporary numbness of the lower lip/chin can occur and typically improves over time.
For women/men?
Feminine taper vs. square projection.
